About Fork Around & Find Out Kitchen
This site exists because most recipe websites are written by no one in particular, for everyone in general, and the result is content that technically tells you how to make a thing without ever making you feel like the person writing it has actually stood in a kitchen at 7pm on a Tuesday wondering if they can pull this off.
Fork Around & Find Out Kitchen is different in one specific way: the recipes are written in first person by someone who has made these dishes, messed some of them up, and figured out what actually matters versus what cooking shows say matters. The voice is Southern, the humor is real, and the recipes work.
The name is what it sounds like. You try something. You find out. That's cooking. That's most of life, actually.
What You'll Find Here
Recipes for real weeknight situations. Dishes for when you have company and not enough confidence. Baked goods that require patience and reward it. Everything from biscuits and gravy to slow cooker chicken to chocolate chip cookies that actually turn out the way you wanted them to.
Every recipe includes accurate ingredients, real cooking times and temperatures, storage instructions, and a FAQ section covering the things people actually get wrong. The intro is funny. The recipe itself is serious. That's the deal.
A Note on the Recipes
All recipes are tested for accuracy. Cooking times, temperatures, and measurements are specific and correct. If something in a recipe doesn't work for you, the FAQ section on each page covers the most common problems and how to fix them.
